COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information

UPDATE: UCPL TO BEGIN CURBSIDE SERVICE, REMOTE PRINTING JUNE 3

Beginning Wednesday, June 3, University City Public Library will offer curbside service to its patrons.

This contact-free service will allow Library patrons to reserve and pick up items they have placed on hold. Curbside hours will be available Monday through Friday from 11-a.m.-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. Additionally, UCPL’s book returns are now open, so patrons may begin returning the items they checked out prior to the Library’s closure.

At the same time that curbside service begins, UCPL will also offer printing services for patrons, who are invited to submit print jobs at www.ucitylibrary.org/webprint or by emailing technology@ucitylibrary.org. The Library’s wireless internet network has been extended, and is now accessible in the parking lot.

Due dates on materials that were checked out before the Library closed have been extended through June 30, and all holds have remained in place throughout the closure. Since closing for COVID-19 on March 17, UCPL has provided patrons with variety of online resources — including ebooks, downloadable audiobooks, e-magazines, and streaming video and music — as well as staff-created digital content and phone reference assistance. Reference assistance will continue from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday by calling or texting 314-827-5669.

University City Public Library has been working in conjunction with the leadership teams at the other eight member libraries of the Municipal Library Consortium, as well as St. Louis County Library and St. Charles City-County Library to make coordinated decisions in the best interests of the public. Each of these library districts has the same reopening dates. Ongoing updates about services and reopening plans will be posted here, as well as on the Library’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
