COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information

Beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, University City Public Library will close its building to the public until further notice, in an effort to help limit the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

The decision to close is a difficult one, and is made in conjunction with other libraries across the St. Louis region. We recognize that the Library and its many programs and services are an invaluable resource to the community. However, we view this as the most responsible path forward to support the health and well-being of our community at this time.

Due dates on materials will be extended during the closure. All holds will be left in place until the Library reopens. Until the Library reopens, patrons are encouraged to use UCPL’s variety of online resources — including ebooks, downloadable audiobooks, e-magazines, and streaming video and music.

We will continue to monitor developments and respond accordingly, and we look forward to providing in-person Library services as soon as we are advised by experts that it is safe. For additional information on COVID-19, please check the following resources: If you have questions about COVID-19, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has set up a hotline staffed 24 hours a day by medical professionals. Call 877-435-8411 to reach the hotline.
